In this German premiere the exhibition “Viviane Sassen. In and Out of Fashion” shows a retrospective of her best fashion photography at the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt.

Emotional and intensive – the Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen (*1972) has an exceptional approach when it comes to fashion. In the last 18 years she has developed a visual style that is both fascinating and full of energy.

As well as her renowned images in the field of fashion, Sassen’s photography has crossed borders into the international art scene, establishing her recognition as an artist. In 2007 Sassen was awarded the Prix de Rome and in 2011 presented with the International Center of Photography (ICP) Infinity Award in New York. During the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013 her photographs were exhibited at the Palazzo Encyclopedic.

Visitors will experience Sassen’s distinctive style through original photographs, projected installations and a selection of materials from her personal archives. An exhibition in collaboration with Studio Viviane Sassen and Huis Marseille, Amsterdam.

A special edition of 300 high-quality posters are printed for the occasion of the re-opening of the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt. They are numbered and signed by Viviane.
